Golf - Our first real game

This summer, the kids and I took golf lessons with Randy Hertzog at Chuck Corica golf course in Alameda. We also had lessons (from another instructor) last year, but this time things seemed to have taken hold and both the kids are developing reasonable swings. I was even hitting the ball well.

So we decided to try out the par 3 course and keep score for the first time. We generally tried to count every shot, although we didn't count whiffs. Matthew shot a 61, with very nice drives (he even hit one green). Emily shot 59 with some very solid putting. Dad shot a pair of 33s, and that seemed really good, until I realize that is equivalent to an 84 on a real course - with the assumption that I hit every drive into the middle of the fairway and take my second shot from a tee!

But perhaps years from now it will be fun to look back at the original scores.
