Brain MRI

Today was the first of the two MRIs - and I learned a new MRI trick (in addition to "get a poor night's sleep so that you are tired") - namely, close your eyes before you slide into the machine and never open them until you are out. This way you can pretend that you are anywhere and it is not as claustrophobic.

It was about 40 minutes, including a break for an injection of dye for better imaging.

Since it was a brain MRI, about half my body was out of the machine, but on the other hand, I was wearing a face shield that reduced the open area in front of my face even further (but my eyes were closed so I didn't realize it until it was all over).

I won't be calling in for results for about two weeks - approx Wednesday, Jan 23rd.
