The Prince and the Pauper

Author: Mark Twain
Amazon info

I am a big Mark Twain fan and I really enjoyed this book. The classic story of the swap between the poor boy who becomes King and the King who becomes a street urchin - yet neither are comfortable in their new roles (even though both were not completely happy with their original roles). But I do have the feeling that I am missing the point - after all, would Tom Canty really want to give up the kingship so readily? I was able to catch the satire in the court references (especially the dressing of the prince) - but perhaps I am missing the really big picture.

But in any case, it was a funny book, a good story, and a satisfying conclusion.

Oh, and it was free on the Sony eBook - hard to beat that price.
